A little bit about us, our family, the shop and what we do……

Here’s where we tell you a little bit about us!

With over 30 years of experience Pauls Floors is a family-run flooring company based in Urmston, run by Paul & Claire Southworth.

We cover (the floors of) Greater Manchester & Cheshire specialising in residential properties – whether this be a new build, extension, renovation project or you just fancy a new carpet in your living room. We offer a wide selection of carpets, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) engineered wood and laminate.

Customer service is important to us, we are old-fashioned like that. We want to provide an exceptional experience for all of our clients from the initial consultation, through to the completed installation – fitted by our team! As an alternative, we’re also more than happy for you to come in (our shop is on Flixton Road, in Urmston M41 6QY – opposite Flixton House), browse our samples and order your flooring for your own fitter to install.

Our Story

This is us…….with a post box. Not just any old post box though, it was the only thing left standing after Manchester was bombed in 1996. Both of us are Manchester born and bred so when we were passing on the 20th anniversary of the bomb, it seemed only right to give that post box a little pat on the head and take the obligatory selfie. We have an adult daughter, studying at university in Wales (occasionally in the shop with us, but not if she can help it), and two dogs (Toby – that’s him below, and Bert who likes to bark at everyone, both usually found in the back of the shop with us).

We opened the shop in Flixton Village (just down the road from Urmston Town Centre) in June 2013, and prior to that we worked from home. Our little shop has gone from strength to strength over the past few years and now we’re proud to work with some of the best manufacturers in the industry.

Working with Claire in the office and shop is our niece Carly and out on the road with Paul is Raheem who originally came to us via The Kickstart Scheme and is now very much part of the team!
